The Pleasanton Hills board of directors sent the following letter to homeowners along with ballots for this year's board election. Cumulative voting is allowed, meaning that a homeowner may cast one vote for each of two candidates or may cast two votes for a single candidate.
SOLICITATION LETTER TO MEMBERSHIP Pleasanton Hills Homeowners’ Association Board of Directors October 19, 2007 To: Members of the Pleasanton Hills Homeowners’ Association: I. NEW RULES In order to comply with the new statutory requirements of Civil Code section 1363.03, et seq, the Board of Directors adopted new Voting and Election Rules. These Rules require, among other things, the use of election inspectors and require that all matters requiring a vote of Members be conducted using a "Secret Ballot." The new Voting and Election Rules were adopted by the Board of Directors at the October 17, 2007 Annual Meeting. II. BALLOT MATTERS The secret ballot enclosed contains the IRS Resolution and Election of Directors. Both of these ballot matters requires a vote. Please follow these instructions when casting your vote: (i) fill out the ballot, but do not sign it (votes are to remain anonymous); (ii) place your ballot in the small, plain envelope which is provided; (iii) place the small, plain envelope into the second larger envelope which is addressed to our election inspector; (iv) sign and date the larger envelope and mail or give it to the election inspector. Please return your ballots no later than November 23, 2007. Our election inspector(s) will verify and count the ballots concerning the IRS Resolution and Election of Directors at the November 27, 2007 Election Results Meeting at the Association Management Company office at 555 Peters Ave., Suite 110, Pleasanton, CA 94566 at 11:00am.
