Bob Hucker, Richard Lam elected to board of directors |
|
Bob Hucker and Richard Lam were elected to the Pleasanton Hills board of directors in the association's first election conducted by mail. The voting was held under new rules adopted Oct. 17 at the association's annual meeting.
Lam, who received the same number of votes as incumbent John Will, was selected in a tie-breaking procedure. Steve Manuel also ran for the board. The new board is expected to meet in January and select officers of the association. Board members serve two-year terms. Three board members elected last year -- Mike Beddone, Chuck Shaw and Carol Woodward -- remain in office until the 2008 election. Homeowner Janet Pugh and employees of Association Management Co. served as election inspectors. The new rules, following a change in state law, require one or three inspectors to open and count the sealed ballots. Under the new procedures, an outer envelope is used to verify the eligibility of the voter to participate in the election, and an inner, unmarked envelope contains the secret ballot. |
